"For me, borderline shows up mainly as very intense emotional experiences and as difficulty maintaining a stable sense of self. I often don't fully know who I am, what I want, what's actually mine, what's coming from emotion or fear, and what's coming from the specific situation I'm in. This comes with a chronic sense of emptiness, and a sense of being detached from my own identity," says 23-year-old Monika Piotrowska.
Borderline: When You Feel Too Much
By day, Monika works as a personal trainer and creates video content for well-known brands. On TikTok, as @piotrxwskaa, she talks about living with mental health conditions and raises broader awareness of mental health issues. Here's how she describes the emotional world of someone with borderline:
"Sadness can be experienced like grief, anger like an inner rage, and joy can spill over into euphoria. Everything is very intense, whether the emotion is positive or negative."
